Arrival at Bergen Flesland Airport (BGO): collect luggage and pick up rental car to start your self-drive trip.
Drive into Bergen city centre to check in. Explore the old wharf at Bryggen (UNESCO World Heritage Site), wooden houses, fish/flower market, and museums. Take Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen for sweeping fjord and city views.
Overnight in Bergen.
Breakfast at hotel. Set off on a scenic drive toward Voss (adventure capital) to visit Tvindefossen waterfall.
Continue toward Sognefjord (Norway’s longest/deepest fjord), stopping at Aurlandsfjord and the village of Flåm. Option to visit Stegastein Viewpoint for panoramas over Aurlandsfjord.
Drive: ~240 km / 150 mi (~4–5 hrs). Overnight in Sognefjord area.
Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a picturesque drive to Loen. Travel along Fjærland road toward Jostedalsbreen Glacier (Europe’s largest mainland icecap) while admiring turquoise Nordfjord views.
In Loen, take the Loen Skylift cable car up Mount Hoven for views of fjords and Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Drive: ~130 km / 80 mi (~3 hrs). Overnight in Loen.
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Geiranger. Enjoy a 65-minute ferry cruise on UNESCO Geirangerfjord past mountain farms and waterfalls: Seven Sisters, Suitor, Bridal Veil.
Take in snow-capped peaks and deep blue waters. Afternoon option to visit Norwegian Fjord Centre (Norsk Fjordsenter) to learn local history.
Drive: ~230 km / 140 mi (~5–5.5 hrs). Overnight in Geiranger.
Breakfast at hotel. Drive Ørnevegen (Eagle Road) winding viewpoints. Ferry Eidsdal to Linge, then drive Trollstigen (Troll’s Ladder) with 11 hairpin bends.
Drive Åndalsnes to Vestnes, take ferry to Molde, and embark Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage.
Drive: ~150 km / 100 mi (~4–4.5 hrs including ferries). Overnight in private cabin on Hurtigruten.
Breakfast onboard while sailing along Norway’s coastline. Disembark in Bergen and explore at leisure: Gamlehaugen Royal Residence, Troldhaugen (Edvard Grieg’s home), Rosenkrantz Tower, and Maritime/Art Museums.
In the evening, sample traditional Norwegian cuisine at local restaurants.
