Arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, collect your rental car, and take a scenic drive to your hotel. Stroll along Drottninggatan and explore Gamla Stan (Old Town) to admire the Royal Palace, Parliament, churches, and townhouses.
Drive: 40 km / 25 miles (40 min).
Overnight: Stockholm.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before driving west through countryside, forests, and lakes. Stop at Rademachersmedjorna open-air museum in Eskilstuna and pass Gripsholm Castle on Lake Mälaren. Arrive in Örebro to view 14th-century Örebro Castle and Wadköping.
Drive: 201 km / 125 miles (~2h 14m).
Overnight: Örebro.
After hotel breakfast, drive north. Visit Kristinehamn for the 15m Picasso Sculpture (1964), church, and Järsberg Runestone. Stop in Karlstad by Klarälven River and Lake Vänern. Drive through forests to lakeside Sunne.
Drive: 174 km / 108 miles (~2h 5m).
Overnight: Sunne.
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Rottneros Park gardens (closed May/Sept) and Selma Lagerlöf’s Mårbacka home. Drive north into Dalarna, famous for lakes, forests, and red cottages. Arrive at Lake Siljan area to relax.

Breakfast at hotel. In Mora, visit Anders Zorn’s home/museum. See Grannas Dala Horse Workshop (1920s) in Nusnäs. Visit 800-year-old Rättvik Church (activities: fishing, riding, swimming). Optional: Tällberg (15 km south) or Styggforsen Waterfall “troll hole”.
Drive: 65 km / 40 mi + 39 km / 24 mi (1h + 40m).
Overnight: Lake Siljan Area.
Breakfast at hotel. Drive toward Stockholm, stopping at Dössberget Museum in Bjursås. Visit Avesta to see Sweden’s largest Dala Horse (café/restaurant on site). Arrive in Stockholm for a free evening to walk the waterfront, enjoy fika, or revisit Old Town.

Overnight: Stockholm.
Enjoy breakfast and hotel check-out. Spend the morning doing last-minute shopping or visiting remaining museums/attractions. Drive to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, return your rental car, and depart for your flight home.
