Breakfast at hotel. Guided Helsinki tour: Senate Square, Lutheran Cathedral, Finlandia Hall, Parliament, Sibelius Monument, harbour, and granite Temppeliaukio Rock Church. Afternoon free for design districts; optional Suomenlinna Sea Fortress UNESCO island excursion.
Transfer: Local city tour transfers.
Overnight: Helsinki hotel.
Breakfast. Travel east by express train to South Karelia. Arrive Lappeenranta for a guided walking tour of Old Town and Swedish fortress (wooden Orthodox churches, fortifications, harbour). Evening scenic cruise across Lake Saimaa and Saimaa Canal.
Train: Helsinki → Lappeenranta (~2 hrs).
Overnight: Lappeenranta / Lake Saimaa Region.
Breakfast at hotel. Free morning in Lappeenranta: explore Old Town boutiques, sample traditional Karelian cuisine, or relax by Lake Saimaa harbour. Late afternoon express train back to Helsinki. Final evening free for farewell dining and exploring capital.
Train: Lappeenranta → Helsinki (~2 hrs).
Overnight: Helsinki hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Tour concludes after breakfast. Take included airport transfer to Helsinki Airport for departure flight home, bringing back wonderful memories of Finland’s urban culture and serene Saimaa lake landscapes.
