Welcome to Iceland, where your adventure begins. Spend your first day getting to know Reykjavík, the lively capital. Stroll along the old harbor, stop by a cozy local restaurant, or unwind in a hot tub at one of the city’s popular geothermal pools before the action kicks off tomorrow.
Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast at hotel. Walk inside Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel, formed 5,000+ years ago. Explore rock formations, then relax in Reykjavík. Evening: included group Northern Lights hunt to a dark-sky location. Upgrades: small group, super jeep, or boat. Sightings aren’t guaranteed; weather may reschedule.
Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast at hotel. Super jeep to Þingvellir National Park’s tectonic plates, Geysir’s Strokkur, and Gullfoss waterfall. Drive to Langjökull glacier base camp for a 1-hour two-person snowmobile ride across the icy landscape. Think it doesn’t get more up close and personal? Just wait for tomorrow.
Overnight in Reykjavik.
Breakfast at hotel. Super jeep to Mýrdalsjökull glacier for a guided hike past ice formations and crevasses into Kötlujökull ice cave’s black and blue ice. Walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall. From 1 Feb to 15 Nov, also visits nearby Skógafoss.
Breakfast at hotel. Depending on flight time, optional relaxing soak at the Blue Lagoon to end refreshed. Picked up from hotel with paid luggage storage at lagoon, then transfer directly to Keflavík International Airport.
